As someone that went to a prestigious school for undergrad and has two master degrees, I couldn’t agree more. I used to work as a speech therapist in an elementary school and socioemotional skills, curiosity, and a love of learning never seemed to be as important as “hard skills” which always made me sad. This extends into high school and then college. I appreciate this perspective!
